YHSA is a Christian support group located in York, Pennsylvania. YHSA strives through all of its efforts to bring glory to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as prescribed in the Nicene Creed.

The mission of YHSA is to encourage excellence and integrity in home schooling. YHSA exists to serve the interests of parents educating their children at home under Act 169, the Pennsylvania Home Education Law of 1988; this does not include those enrolling their children in cyber or charter schools, which are part of the government school system in Pennsylvania.

PHEA response to PDE Website

The PDE (PA Dept of Education) website has been reorganized and rewritten.  Some of the website changes are very helpful, others are inaccurate. PHEA (PA Home Educators Association) [Janine Giambalvo - our legislative liason - is an advisory board member] has issued a letter to the PDE responding to these changes.  Click here to read the letter.  Please educate yourself and your legislators regarding the law.
